I had an idea of making a felt Hello Kitty plushie for awhile but I didn’t want to make just any design but something I really like. So when I saw Hairspray Kitty, I fell in love with her look & decided to make a felt plushie out of it, especially since this series didn’t release a plush (a truly lamentable fact).

Based the design & size on the file I got.

I started off really enthusiastic. But as the hours wore on, I got more & more frazzled. The more I want to finish it quickly, the more work there seems to be… Too tired to take any more pics, so there are no more in-progress pics.

A difficult part – I realised that a sort of 3D plush had to have a back view. But I only had the design on the front view, so I had to improvise the back part (added kitty’s hair + arm + leg).

I need to add, I hate cutting spirals, they take forever.
And so are getting both eyes the right size & shape.
And eyelashes are difficult to sew. It took me 3 tries to get it correct,

I am very happy with how it turned out but I’m not going near a needle & thread for the next 3 months -___-

I have always been a fan of Ikea though. I love shopping at Ikea! You are free to browse whatever you like cos there’s no pesky salespeople, the room settings are inspiring, there’s so much to look at, the prices are affordable & there’s fantastic food at the cafe.. hehe

Presenting one side of my room with what I consider my best Ikea purchase ever – the Expedit bookshelf.

It makes a wonderful display for any collection. I have seen people build mini rooms for their dolls using this as a giant dollhouse. Simple yet very functional. It’s no wonder I love it as a home for my kitties.

Soichi Negishi is a shy & gentle young man who dreams of a career as a pop musician. He moved to Tokyo to pursue his dreams of making ‘trendy’ j-pop, wearing ‘trendy’ clothes and living in a ‘trendy’ apartment.

However, due to a twist of fate, he found himself as Johannes Krauser II – the lead singer & guitarist of a Death Metal band called Detroit Metal City. Trying to come to terms with his newly acquired & undesired status as Death Metal God & hiding his job from his family, comes the complication of his college crush Yuri (who dislikes loud music) into the picture. The pace is fast, the music is catchy & Ken’ichi is stellar in his portrayal of 2 entirely different personas. I love how his voice goes from whiny one sec to growling the next.. haha! I highly recommend you to catch this movie if you can! I’m watching it (again) tonite!
